In what ways
does art
influence
our everyday life?

Arthas a big influence on our society. It gives us an opinion, it puts values in situations we never knew existed, it translates experiences across different cultures. Art embraces all ideas, it is not just about the paintings or photos. It is about the things we hear and how we feel.

Art has a very important role in the development of mankind, it is pushing us towards social change. Through art, we get to see the perspectives of people around us and we are never limited to just one opinion. Your opinion can change over time and nobody can hold it against you.

Researchers and society are interested in the relationship between art and the human brain. That is why art created specifically for a specific environment is important. In any form, it uplifts the human spirit. Healing art is a common way of helping patients with fast recovery, it gives them a positive energy, and it gives their family and healthcare workers drive to regain their composure and stay calm. A common trend in the tourism industry is hospitality art. The industry uses art to attract and engage guests during their stay in a touristic establishment. Art owned by businesses inspires workers and boosts productivity when art is used inside the workplace.

Most importantly, art is essential for childhood development, children will learn from art to express themselves in the way they know best, it will also teach them important things like motor skills and colors. Without letting children use their motor skills to their best ability, use colors and make things using different tools, their talents and skills will not be fully developed, the use of colors will help them be more diverse in their lines of thought.

When we think of the word Art, we think about pieces of work in a gallery or museum, it might be an old painting or a modern sculpture. The truth is that art is much more than what you see displayed physically in galleries. Sub consciously, we are surrounded by art and use it on a daily basis. Most people don’t even realize the big role art plays in our lives, and just how much we rely on art in all of its forms in our everyday living. Art is not just for viewing, a lot of it is functional too, especially in our homes. Everything from the beautiful patterns on our bed covers to the decorative tea towels, the ceramic teapot we use each morning, to the look of a desk lamp are all considered a form of art.

In a way, art makes a community beautiful. It makes the places we go and spend time in more interesting. Through art we can understand better our cultures, our history and traditions. In this sense it is communication; it allows people from different cultures and time to communicate through images, sounds, and stories that affect us all. It’s important to be exposed to cultures from around the world as well as to a wide range of artwork.

When you are exposed to art and culture as an everyday part of your life, you learn about the world, how it was and how it is today, you can dream of how the world can change. This state of mind can help you come up with solutions in your everyday interactions, regardless of what career you have. It can make you an open minded and well rounded individual who can get along with anyone. You may be surprised by how much your character may positively change once you educate yourself about art and include art and culture into your life.
